When we were first contacted about this project the client had a very rough idea of using stock images of people bird watching to create a video showcasing his app.  Stock images can add up quickly and you don’t always have the flexibility that you can get with original content.

We thought live action would be a better fit so we shot a proposal video.  We found a great location in the Berkeley hills and filmed a family using the app on a hike.

The client liked it so much that we ended up shooting the same thing again but with a few minor wardrobe changes and shot additions.

Google had a competition for who could receive one of the first pairs of Glass back in early 2013.  Everyone had to submit a 15 second video demonstrating how their app would work on Glass, and if Google deemed your idea worthy you could buy one of the first pairs.  We had one day to whip up a sample video.  Lo and behold with our video, Mitch won one of the pairs!  So now they can get a head start on their app for Glass!
